I am a statistician, coming originally from Denmark, but working now as a professor in biostatistics at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), UPEI, PEI, Canada. My current work involves research, teaching and consulting in statistical methods for veterinary science, in particular veterinary epidemiology.

I co-authored the textbook Veterinary Epidemiologic Research, 2nd edition (by Dohoo, Martin and Stryhn) and its companion version Methods in Epidemiologic Research. My primary responsibility was for the book chapters on multilevel modelling and Bayesian modelling (Chapters 20-24).
One particular interest of mine has been statistical models for observational data, typically extracted from registers of routinely recordings in animal production. The statistical methods relevant to such data include survival analysis and linear or generalised linear mixed models.
